Your Questions

Here are the questions we hear most often. If yours isn't here, send it to us below.

Can I do ruqyah on myself?

Yes, and it is encouraged. Reciting over yourself with trust in Allah is from the Sunnah. Our Ruqyah Guide lists what to recite and a simple daily routine.

How do I know if my problem is spiritual or medical?

Often you can't tell on your own, and many symptoms overlap. See a doctor first, and do ruqyah alongside. The two don't conflict. Taking medical treatment is a means Allah has given us.

Should I stop my medicine?

No. Never stop prescribed treatment unless your own doctor changes it. We will never ask you to.

Can a sister come for ruqyah?

Yes, with a mahram present for the whole session. The raaqi does not sit alone with her or touch her.

Is online ruqyah possible?

Yes. The raaqi recites over a video call while you listen and make du'a, and then gives you a routine to follow yourself. Choose "Online" on the appointment page.

Is water or oil recited over allowed?

Many scholars permit reciting the Qur'an over water or oil for drinking or use, with the same conditions as any ruqyah. Ask your own scholar if you are unsure.

Someone gave me a ta'weez. What should I do?

Amulets and written charms worn for protection are not allowed. The Prophet ﷺ called them shirk (Abu Dawud 3883). Remove it, seek Allah's forgiveness, and protect yourself with the adhkar and the Qur'an instead.

Will you tell me who did magic to me?

No. Only Allah knows the unseen. We do not ask jinn for information, and we do not accuse anyone. Accusing people without proof can destroy families.

How many sessions will I need?

It differs from person to person, and the outcome is with Allah. Your own daily salah, adhkar and Qur'an matter as much as any session.
